JUDr. Mgr. Tomáš Mészáros, PhD. has been working at Kaduc & Partners since its foundation. In 2010, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava and since then has been working at the Department of Legal Theory and Philosophy of Law. In 2016, he expanded his professional knowledge in the field of European Union law and British law by completing a two-year course under the auspices of The British Law Center (Diploma in English and European Union Law). In 2019, he supplemented his practical legal knowledge by studying philosophy and applied philosophy at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava. The last piece in the puzzle of his academic activities is the study of the English postgraduate program “European and International Business Law” at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, which deepens his professional competence in the field of transnational law oriented towards foreign clients. In his practice, he cooperates with several organizations and institutions (Slovak Film Institute, Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic, Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic) and since 2020 he has been a member of the Law-making Commission of the Constitutional Legal Committee of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. He participated in several international legal conferences, congresses and workshops (Budapest, Prague, Delhi, London, Moscow, Bordeaux, Strasbourg). Close contact with the academic world enables him to keep up-to-date information and to have an overview of specific areas that are subject to dynamic changes. An example is his active participation in the “Environment and Human Rights” program of the Council of Europe, which provides a platform for pan-European cooperation between lawyers and judges in the field of environmental law.
He has extensive experience in litigation, in which he won for his clients in several cases with a high value of the dispute exceeding one million euros. He passes on the practical knowledge and soft skills acquired in the courtroom and in his legal practice to other generations of lawyers in specialized courses taught at the law faculty (Argumentation in Law and Interpretation of Law). In addition to co-ordinating colleagues in solving day-to-day matters focused on common everyday problems (from neighborhood disputes to illegal evictions), he mainly focuses on clients who require an in-depth analysis of their situation that goes beyond the standard framework. He is able to offer these clients detailed opinions taking into account the current legislative situation not only in Slovakia, but also in the European context, as well as specific pragmatic recommendations aimed at the desired result. In the past, he worked on more extensive projects in the field of company law, aviation law, collective labor law, hunting law, but also constitutional law, providing advice not only in the case of individual constitutional complaints, but also in proceedings for the control of compliance with legal regulations. He is able to fully direct the wide spectrum of his activities in favor of the interests of the firm’s clients, who receive from him a comprehensive legal service crowned by a unique approach tailored to each of them.
